What is Hospital Cash?

Hospital Cash is a simple insurance cover that pays you a fixed amount of money on the third day you are admitted in hospital regardless of actual medical expenses incurred . You can use the money however you wish whether for medical bills, transport, or everyday expenses.

Eligibility

  • Adults- 18-75 years( Main member and/ or Spouse)
  • Children 3months – 18 years ( cover can be extended to 25 years, provided there is evidence of proof of schooling)

Daily payouts:

  • Daily payouts are capped to a maximum of 20 days on any one admission and subject to the maximum
  • Cover is payable from night 3 of admission, meaning night 1 and 2 are not payable
  • Cover is 24-hour cover and on a worldwide basis.
  • This policy has a waiting period of 15 days

It is policy that offers a fixed benefit amount paid to you for each night you are hospitalized, rather than direct payment to the hospital for bills.

The policy covers a 12-month period from the date of full payment.

Yes, there is a waiting period of 15 days.

Benefits are not paid in the event it is known that the insured was actively engagement in criminal activities or actively participated in war & civil/ political riots.

The benefit is payable upon hospitalisation or admission for three (3) or more consecutive nights at a Ministry of Health admissions accredited hospital.

This will depend on the option you select and how many beneficiaries you add. Annual premiums start as low as Kes. 400.
You unlock your benefit from night 3 of admission and your compensation will depend on the option you select.

Unfortunately, the benefit is not payable, because you must be admitted for a minimum of 3 nights.
Nights 1 and 2 are not payable.

Within 7days upon discharge from hospital, duly fill in the claim form and ensure to notify immediately KCB Bancassurance Intermediary on [email protected] or your relationship officer and attach the
necessary claim documents (Hospital discharge letter, itemized invoice and any supporting documentation).
